Patrick McGraw

Composer

Patrick McGraw is a Toronto-based composer of contemporary concert music. An early interest in the sciences led him to a Ph.D. in theoretical physics from the California Institute of Technology before he turned his main focus to his other great love.  His music occasionally draws direct inspiration from his physics background, but more often the influence is subtle, reflected in a concern with the relationship between abstract and sensual forms of beauty; between music's underlying logic and the jagged contingency of its realization.
